Add Voice to your Internet Website!

How to add voice to your Internet website! - Do It Yourself Audio?

Step 1. Get a microphone and connect it to your computer's A-to-D converter card. (This may be located on your computer sound card.)

Step 2. Adjust your recording volume levels for the best quality recording. If you set your volume levels too high you will hear distortion.

Step 3. Load and run your voice recording software or Windows audio recording application. You may have to purchase or download this software. Most software programs record .WAV file formats.

Step 4. Use your microphone on your computer and record your voice.

Step 5. Save your .WAV formatted voice in a directory on your CPU Hard Drive.

Step 6. You will need to utilize special WAV-to-MP3 conversion software to convert your file to a more usable compressed audio format. (This software can be purchased or downloaded over the Internet)

Step 7. After you convert you WAV audio recording to the MP3 format, you will need to find a server to host your audio file. If you don’t have a server, you can find free hosting sites on the Internet. Nevertheless, many of these sites have bandwidth restrictions or do not allow you to link from their sites to other sites. We recommend purchasing your own hosting service for around $4.95 to $9.95 a month.

Step 8. Once you have a server to host your audio file, you may need a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program to upload your audio file to your server.

Step 9. Upload your MP3 audio to your Internet server or website. Write down the URL of your audio file, you will need it when writing your HTML voice player code. You will be required to do some basic HTML programming to activate audio on your page or website.

Note: most website Personal Pages do NOT accept embedded HTML code, so, you may have to use the other non- embedded code on your page.

Step 11. Go to your website or personal page and listen to your audio. If it does not work, double check steps 1-10 above.

Step 12. If you desire to change your voice message or adjust your audio, repeat steps 1-10 above. You may have to adjust your recording levels down or up to achieve your desired result. If you follow these steps you will have successfully added audio to your website or page.
